The Stibo Foundation – A stable ownership
A key milestone in the Stibo Group’s history was the establishment of the Stibo Foundation in 1966. Erik Kiær and his wife Ingrid, with a deed of gift, transferred 99.7% of the shares in the company to the Aarhuus Stiftsbogtrykkerie Foundation (now known as Stibo Fonden/the Stibo Foundation).
The main task of the Stibo Foundation is to act as the owner of the Stibo companies, while ensuring good and initiative-oriented company management and long-term dedication to innovation. In addition, the Stibo Foundation supports scientific research, social and cultural tasks, and causes that can benefit the well-being of corporate Denmark.
It is the policy of the foundation that most of the profits and liquidity created in the companies remain in the companies to ensure a solid foundation for the companies’ continued development.

The History of the Stibo group
1794
Stibo DX is part of the Stibo Group. Founded in 1794 as Aarhuus Stiftsbogtrykkerie by printer Niels Lund, the company published the first edition of Århus Stiftstidende that same year. Since then, the Stibo Group has evolved into a global leader in master data management, media enterprise platforms, and commercial printing.
1927
The newspaper division (Aarhus Stiftstidende) of Aarhuus Stiftsbogtrykkerie was sold, and Hans Kiær acquired the printing house, shaping the next phase of the company’s journey.
1949
Hans Kiær’s son, Erik Kiær, and his wife Ingrid Kiær took over Aarhuus Stiftsbogtrykkerie (now Stibo). Bringing new technology into the company, Erik Kiær became the link between past and present, focused on securing the company’s future with a long-term perspective.
1966
In 1966, the Kiær couple transferred their shares to the newly established Stibo Foundation. For over 60 years, the Foundation has ensured full ownership of the Stibo Group, supporting global growth, technological excellence, and long-term value for customers.
